Walter Piatkowski Jr. entered his eternal home in heaven on the 7th of July 2016, finding rest and rejoicing with his Savior Jesus Christ. “Skip” was born the 22nd of December 1951, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Ruth and Walter Piatkowski Sr., and was reared in Toms River, New Jersey. He was graduated from Stockton University and began his career in Houston in 1977, working in the delivery business until starting his own company, Supershot Delivery Service, in 1988.
Skip was a loving, gracious and giving husband and father, a faithful friend, a relentless, courageous fighter and was always looking up. He treasured his service as a Deacon and Bible Study teacher at Second Baptist Church. His earnest desire was to live for Christ and lead others to Him. “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21)
He served on the Board of Directors of the Houston West Chamber of Commerce and was active in organizations to support business and community, including: Executive Dover Club, Express Carriers Association, Messenger Courier Association of America, and DADS Club Aquatics.
Skip is survived by his beautiful and beloved wife of 33 years, Kathleen Murphy Piatkowski, his son, Drew, and daughter, Laura; three Piatkowski brothers, John and wife Sue, David and wife Janelle; and Peter. He was predeceased by his parents.
