on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at her daughter’s home, with her family by her side.
She was born on March 19, 1934 in Hubbard, Texas to the late
John and Gladys Dailey West. On January 30, 1954, Sue married the love of her life,
James “Jimmy” Worley Thomas. They were Blessed with the birth of two beautiful girls-Cindy and Karen.
She held a wide variety of jobs off and on while caring for her family.
Over the years, when Sue and Jimmy would discover that a friend, a co-worker,
or whomever needed a helping hand or a place to call home, they would invite them to stay with them
until they got back up on their feet. This resulted into a large “extended family” which she dearly loved and that always stayed close to her and her family’s heart.
Sue had a contagious laugh, she loved to play cards, particularly bridge, shop, and always enjoyed staying a few days at their country getaway in East Texas. She also loved Christmas and gift giving.
But her favorite thing by far was to cook up a big Sunday meal for her family, friends and neighbors and enjoy the company of them all.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Mullins and husband Larry,
her grandchildren Ethan and Abby Mullins, her sister Sheryl Ross and husband James,
sister in law Anna Mary Thomas, special companion Paul Schramm, and a host of family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy, and her daughter Cindy.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private burial service with immediate family will be held
at Forest Park East with services provided by Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services.
Everyone will be invited to celebrate Sue’s life in an informal “get-together”
on a future date in 2021.
