Wayne Thomas Cline, a cherished and compassionate soul, passed away on July 5, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on August 14, 1945, in Maysville, Kentucky, Wayne was known for his hard-working, loyal, and thoughtful nature. He was a resident of Goodrich, Texas.
Wayne dedicated his career to working as a safety instructor for Mitchell Energy, where his adventurous spirit and commitment to safety were greatly admired.
He was married to Mary Ann Cline for 15 wonderful years, during which they shared a life filled with love and mutual respect. Wayne was a devoted family man, survived by his children: Wayne T Cline Jr., Matthew S Cline, Mary Cline, Susan Pepper, and Buddy Pepper. He was also a proud grandfather to Levi Cline, Luke Cline, Andrew Mentzel, Abigail Mentzel, Aaron Mentzel, Krystal Hustead, and Makayla Cline, and a great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren.
In his personal life, Wayne had a passion for fishing, golfing, and raising rabbits and chickens. He also enjoyed woodworking and computer etching, hobbies that reflected his thoughtful and creative nature. Wayne was also a member of the Masons, contributing to his community with dedication and service.
A visitation will be held at the American Heritage Funeral Home, located at 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX, on July 24, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at the same venue from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A committal with military honors will take place at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
Wayne Thomas Cline will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, loyalty, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
