To the family. As a young salesman, I met Mr. Brittain over 40 years ago. He was always someone I looked up to. He was so genuine, kind, and decent. He was a man of values. His priorities were in order. I think about Mr. & Mrs. Brittain often as they reminded me of my own parents..

As I go through the obituaries each night I wonder, will I see a name I recognize? More and more I do...friends from the North side of Houston where I was born and raised. Tonight I saw Mr. Brittain's name. I knew him from Claytons on Baumann Rd.
Such a nice man and very nice family. I even dated his son a while in high school...."Hi" W.D. This is Florence Higginbotham. I have lost both my parents now. Heaven is richer because of parents like we had. Thinking of you...Florence

I am very sorry to hear about Mr. Brittain. My sympathies to his family. I worked for Mr. Brittain in about 1971 at the Clayton's grocery store on Yale St. My father liked him very much as well. Again my condolences to his family.

Memaw, Linda, Gary and W.D........Papaw was one of the best men we have ever met. We adopted him and Memaw as our own and felt like a part of their family. We loved Papaw with all our hearts. His passing is a sad time, but also a glorious one, for we know he is with our heavenly father in Heaven waiting on the rest of us to come. He will be missed greatly!

Baby, Linda, WD, Gary, and all: Linda, just the other day I thought about your family and wondered how everyone was doing. I am sure sorry to hear about your father's passing. Aunt Winonah always spoke highly of your mother and him. Kenneth Lee & family
