William "David" Burton, a cherished resident of Houston, passed away on March 29, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, dedication, and unwavering love for his family. Born in Tallassee, Alabama, on May 5, 1956, to his beloved parents Willie Frank and Francis Abigail (Faircloth) Burton, David's early years were in Bellaire, Texas, where he was raised alongside his siblings. David raised his children in the same home he grew up in on Lanark Lane, two doors down from Uncle Mike.
David's journey in life was marked by a passion for his craft as an electrician, a profession he dedicated over forty years to before establishing his own thriving company, Burton Electrical Services, in the early 2000s. His commitment to excellence was not only evident in his work but also in the way he mentored his son Gary, passing down his expertise and values, thereby ensuring the continued success and growth of their family business. He always made time to provide his electrical services for all of his family and friends.
David's life was enriched by the presence of his partner of 26 years, Jeri Eaves, who shared in his travel adventures. Jeri and Gary provided devoted care to David around the clock until his final moments. Their unwavering dedication ensured that David received the love, support, and comfort he deserved throughout his journey.
Those who knew David will forever remember his generous nature, unwavering support, and the comfort of knowing that he was always just a phone call away. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
In addition to his loving partner, Jeri Eaves, David is survived by his sisters, Linda Williams and Debra Burton, his children, Gary Burton, Lauren Martin (married to Travis Martin), and Tunisia Burns (married to Robbie Burns), grandchildren, Dustin and Leila Burns, Lylah, Lilli, and Tyler Martin, and great-grandson Nico Arellano. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, may we find solace in the cherished memories he leaves behind and the profound impact he had on all who had the privilege of sharing in his life's journey.
