

William (Bill) F. Dalheim, age 90, of Houston passed away on November 26, 2010. Originally from Syracuse, N.Y., Bill graduated from Syracuse University before serving as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Bill worked for Shell Oil Company for 28 years. Upon retirement from Shell, he served as president of Arkansas Energy for eight years. Bill later spent many years in Houston working with youth as a volunteer with Child Advocates, Casa and CrossRoads. As a member of the Greatest Generation, he lived his life with duty, honor, courage, service, love of family and country and responsibility for himself. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elinor Curtin Dalheim; sons, Edward and wife Tricia of Arlington and William and wife Patty of Houston; daughters Mary Dalheim and her husband Marc Schildkraut of Washington D.C. and Elizabeth Van Doren and her husband Mark of Houston; five grandchildren, Cullen, Clay, Kirk and Nicholas Dalheim and Kenneth Van Doren; and a sister, Betsey Warner of Syracuse, NY. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Bill requested that donations be directed to CrossRoads: Community Partnership for Youth.
