

William “Bill” Douglas Edman, a native Houstonian, passed away Monday, the 13th of July 2015, at the age of seventy-four. Bill graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering. He was employed by Chevron from 1964 until 2001. Bill served Chevron in many capacities and lived in several countries, where he always enjoyed the experience of learning new cultures and making new friends. He loved spending time with his family and barbequing.
Bill was a long-time parishioner of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church. He was a member of The Society of Petroleum Engineers, The American Association of Petroleum Geologists, and a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. Bill was also a member of the Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation, proudly providing two scholarships at A&M. He also loved Aggie football games.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Georgia Bingle Edman; and his beloved wife, Sara N. Edman. He is survived by his children, Douglas C. Edman and his children, Stephanie, Jack, and Christopher, Elizabeth Edman, and Jeffrey W. Edman and his son, Nicholas; sisters, Judith Beisel, and Clare Hall (Ken); brother, Steve Edman (Robbyn); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The memorial service is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 18th of July, in the Chapel of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 2450 River Oaks Blvd., in Houston.
