William D. Herrington, age 77, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. William was born in Silsbee, Texas, on October 15, 1944, to parents Johnie Benton Herrington and Mary Moya Herrington. He grew up alongside aunts, uncles, and cousins in Silsbee, Texas, until they moved to Houston and finally to his true home in Humble, Texas. Bill graduated from Humble High School and lettered in basketball and football. There he met his lifelong friends. He then met the love of his life, Dianna, in Humble, Texas, and united their love on June 18, 1965. Bill had a career in Telecommunications with S.W.Bell and AT&T for 35 years. At S.W. Bell and AT&T Bill continued to advance throughout the years and ultimately became a facility Engineering Supervisor. He was baptized and a member of Coldspring Baptist Church. He was also a Humble High School Alumni member and had a passion for sports, especially Humble basketball and football. Bill loved the Lord, and his family with all his heart. Bill was a proud man. He was proud of his accomplishments and his friends but was most proud of his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Johnie Benton Herrington; mother, Mary Moya Norwood Herrington; brothers Jonnie Herrington and Robert Herrington.
William is survived by his beloved wife Dianna Herrington; children Kimberlee Spiegelhauer and husband Alan Spiegelhauer, Billy Herrington and wife Dawn Herrington, Cindy Herrington; sister Mary Kathryn Dowdy and husband Glen Dowdy; sister-in-law Stella Herrington; uncle Robert (Brownie) Biscamp; grandchildren Kinsey Spiegelhauer, Trevor Spiegelhauer Tyler Kadlec, Will Herrington, Matthew Herrington. Great grandchildren: Raelynn Spiegelhauer and Mason Spiegelhauer. Numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives, and many friends.
A visitation for William will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 7, 2022, at 10:00 AM in the Family Chapel, followed by burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
Alan Spiegelhauer, Billy Herrington, Tyler Kadlec, Will Herrington, Matthew Herrington, Lucas Liggett, Ricky Peña, and Tommy Brooks are serving as pallbearers.
