William Webb Hughey

A U.S. Air Force veteran, William earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Texas Christian University. He worked as a Systems Engineer and retired from IBM, and then worked as a Data Center Manager with Systems House until retirement.

William had a diverse range of interests that brought him joy. He was deeply passionate about airplanes, economics, and finance. A fan of football, William cheered for the Houston Texans, TCU Horned Frogs, and the UT Longhorns. He also had a strong love for science, history, and gardening, with a special fondness for tending to his lilies and roses.

William is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Lee and Jennie Belle Hughey; his sister, Mary Francis Stidham; and his brother, Robert Lon Hughey.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Yolanda Lucia Hughey; his son Barry William Hughey (wife Gina Cirelli Hughey), his son Richard Keith Hughey (wife Emma Torres Hughey); his brother, Samuel Lee Hughey; and his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Elijah William Hughey, Camryn Ruby Cirelli Hughey and Keith Adrian Hughey.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Angie Rocha, Vanessa Graves, Maria Ruiz, Sofia Ramirez, and Minerva Martinez for their compassionate care and support.

A visitation for William will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Brookside Funeral Home - Champions, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, Texas 77068. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11:30 AM, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, Texas 77068. A graveside service will occur Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
