William Albert Lakey passed away November 21, 2018 in Houston, TX. He was born December 7, 1934 in Wichita Falls, TX and grew up in Pettus, TX.

Bill attended Texas A&I, now Texas A&M University in Kingsville, TX and received his B.S. degree with majors in Math, Chemistry and Education in 1956. He began his professional career with Magna Cove Barium Corporation (Magcobar) a subsidiary of Dresser industries in sales. He progressed through a number of increasingly important positions around the world with this company with its many acquisitions and mergers for over 37 years. He ended his career as President of M-I Drilling Fluids, a Dresser/Halliburton Company.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents William Everett Lakey and Irene Redin Lakey and his brother Robert Joe Lakey. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Agnes (Bittie) Still Lakey, his son William B. Lakey (Patty) his daughters Leanne Davis (Tony) and Lori K Newport, stepdaughters Patricia Penn (Derek), Donna Young (Patrick). Eight grandchildren and ten great-children.

Requiem Mass will be on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:00 am at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham, 7809 Shadyvilla Lane, Houston, Texas 77055.
