
Wm. Raymond Magruder beloved husband and father, died 21 Feb. 2013. He was born June 22, 1926 in Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by his father Wm.P. Magruder, his mother Gertrude McCroskey, his sister Ruby and his wives Mary and Kay. He is survived by his wife Willa and his son Ron, his daughters Vickie Rentz (Steve), Linda Zufall (Eric), and Mary Delaney (Jay), 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Ray served in the Navy Air Force during WW II. He served a tool & dye apprenticeship then became involved in the plastics industry in its early stages. He helped develop many products, including the first plastic cups and toothpaste tubes. He made plastic containers for many products and helped build and maintain the machines to make them. He was employed by IMCO, UNION CARBIDE, CELANESE, AMERICAN CAN, CONTICO and IGLOO. In 1998 he and his 2nd wife Kay joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ray became an avid genealogist and researched thousands of ancestors of him and his family and spouses. He became a temple worker in the Houston temple and helped perform proxy baptisms and other temple ordinances for his kindred dead. He and his wife Willa served as missionaries in the Missouri Independence Mission from November 2002-June 2004. He will long be remembered for his prodigious efforts to make it possible for his ancestors to receive the saving ordinances. Jesus said, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3:5.
