Bill graduated from M. B. Smiley High School in 1961. Bill loved music and played many instruments such as the piano, guitar, banjo and mandolin. Bill went to work at Threlkeld Machine Works in Houston in accounting. While working there at night he went to college getting his degree to be a Machinist.
