

William Glenn (Bill) Richardson, 84, formerly of Channelview, Texas transitioned into eternal life at Medical City Dallas Hospital in Dallas, Texas early Saturday morning September 14, 2024. He is reunited in Heaven with the love of his life of 54 years, Barbara Stelly Richardson.
Bill was born in Port Arthur, Texas to Carroll Abel & Isabelle Picou Richardson on January 5, 1940. He spent his childhood in Groves, Texas and graduated from Port Neches - Groves High School. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961-1965. After Bill and Barbara married they settled in Channelview, Texas where they lived for many years. Bill continued his education at The University of Houston graduating with a degree in Bachelor of Science He had a career in logistics/ property management with Lockheed Martin until his retirement. He was an active member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Channelview, Texas as well as the Knights of Columbus.
Bill was a devoted fan of the Houston Astros Baseball team, attending many games with his family. He loved to read and had a deep interest in World War II history and genealogy. Bill spent countless hours, among many decades researching his ancestors. He compiled a notebook of ancestors spanning 32 generations and 900 years which his family cherishes dearly. Most notably, he discovered our many times great grandfather who served with General George Washington in the American Revolutionary War in 1775-1776.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Marian Andrews, his brothers Roland Richardson and Gilbert Richardson.
Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory his son Neil Edward Richardson of Tennessee Colony, Texas and his daughter Bonnie Jean Richardson of Dallas, Texas, his sister Llewellyn McBride of Port Neches, Texas and Carlos Richardson of Hemphill, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation and reception will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 10 a.m. on Saturday September 21, 2024 followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.
Bill will be laid to rest in a committal service with full military honors at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to any Veterans Charity organizations or a donation to your local library in honor of Bill's life.
