

William Terrell Tittsworth, Sr. (Bill) passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on August 28th, 2021. He was born on September 13, 1934 in Houston, Texas to parents Opal and Joseph E. Tittsworth. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years Melba Thompson Tittsworth, his parents Joseph E. Tittsworth and Opal Meyers Kennada, brother Joseph Tittsworth Jr. (Sonny) and step father Glen Kennada. He is survived by his son William T. Tittsworth, Jr. and wife Shelly and his daughter Gina Lynn Huffman. His grandchildren include: grandson Chad Alan Bean, wife Yoko and great grandson Austin William Bean, along with granddaughter Erin Lynn Tittsworth. Also, his niece, Kathryn Pasteka, step-brother Ted Tittsworth and step-sister Mary Wilson. He leaves behind a host of other family members and friends. Bill grew up in Navasota, Texas and was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School in Houston, Texas. Bill and Melba married on August 15, 1953 in the Heights area. Later in his career he became a Control Systems Engineer, P.E. and spent 50 plus years working in the Oil & Gas and Chemical Industry. He kept his professional engineering (P.E) licenses active until he was 83 years old (2017). He was a highly respected engineer by those who knew of him and had the pleasure of working with him. He was a 32nd degree Mason, this is the highest degree, known as the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Freemasonry. Bill & Melba retired on the Thompson ranch, Shepherd, Texas in early 2000. They built a beautiful home where family and friends could gather and enjoy quality time with them. Bill had many hobbies; he was an avid league bowler with his highest game being 299. He loved basketball, enjoyed golf on his three hole golf course at the ranch, fishing, staying healthy and working out. As well as, coin collecting, investing and researching the stock market, he always had a vegetable garden and loved taking care of his pecan orchard. However, his life long passion was music. He loved singing country music and playing his cherished Martin guitar. Bill had his own radio show segment where he sang live and did commercials with KBRZ in Freeport, Texas working under the famous Smokey Stover when he was in his early 20’s. He was a loyal husband to the love of his life, dedicated father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a wonderful friend to many, a good Christian who lived his life being kind, honest, faithful and loving.
