Wynona Larue Lackey

Wynona LaRue Lackey gained her wings on January 15, 2022 after a very long fight with Alzheimer’s disease. She battled with the most amazing grace, bravery and strength. Wynona LaRue Lackey was born on December 15, 1942 in Santa Rita, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Melvin Lee Lackey and her son, Steve Terry Fitchner Lackey. Mrs. Lackey is survived by her daughters, Sandra Lackey, Susan Santikos, her husband, Anthony Santikos; granddaughter, Meagan Matone; grandson, Austin Santikos; five great-grandsons and remembered by her many nieces and nephews. She was by far the greatest mother, grandmother, wife, sister and daughter to her family and will be missed beyond words and forever in our hearts. A visitation for Wynona will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A committal service will occur Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
