Yolanda, "Yolie", completed high school and began work as a Secretary. She met her future husband, William "Bill" Hughey, at church while William, a member of the U.S. Air Force, was stationed in San Antonio. Yolanda and William were married for over 66 years until his passing in December 2024. After William completed his Air Force duty, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas. They started their family lives and had two children, Barry and Richard.
Yolanda took care of the family and their home while exploring a variety of interests. She was an excellent cook, she sewed clothes and fabric creations throughout the house, she took pride in her flower gardens, and she made sure the house was decorated its best for every season. She played the piano and was highly skilled in a variety of arts and crafts.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William; her parents, Chester and Angelica Arthur; and her brother, Gilbert Arias.
She is survived by her son Barry William Hughey (wife Gina Cirelli Hughey); her son Richard Keith Hughey (wife Emma Hughey); her brother, Andy Arias; her sister Sandra Quisenberry and her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Elijah William Hughey, Camryn Ruby Cirelli Hughey and Keith Adrian Hughey.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Maria Ruiz, Sofia Ramirez, Tami Rivera, Viviene Anderson, Maria Gonzalez, Angie Rocha, and Vanessa Graves for their compassionate care and support.
Yolanda’s funeral services will be held Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Brookside Funeral Home - Champions, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, Texas 77068, according to the following schedule:
