Yolanda was born a new year’s baby on 01/01/1946. She was the first of 3 children of Gonzalo and Delfina Oviedo. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School, class of 1964. She went on later to work as an aide and even for the mayor’s office during the Fred Hofienz administration.
She married Daniel Rodriguez on 09/18/1968, and would have celebrated their 58th anniversary later this year. They had two daughters, Angela Rodriguez (07/30/1977) and Alisha. She was a devoted daughter to her parents, wife, and mother. Some of her hobbies included arts & crafts and baking, especially decorative cakes and desserts. She loved to travel, including beach trips and camping with friends. Some of her favorite moments were spent enjoying music & dancing; cutting up on the dance floor with her family and friends! Her deep faith in God and her dedication to helping others were unwavering.
She passed away 05/30/2026 due to complications related to dementia; an ugly disease that she battled for the past 20 years. She was surrounded by her loved ones, and in the comfort of her own home. She is now resting, reunited with her daughter and other family members. We will miss her every day, and we will take comfort in knowing she is finally at peace and with the Lord.
