

Yolonda Demetresa Moore was born on July 11, 1971 at E. A. Conway hospital in Monroe, Louisiana to proud parents, Maggie Polk and Earl Moore. Yolonda was known by her family as "Dee Dee Be", "Londa" and Bue". She was given these names by some of her aunts and uncles. Although most of her family did not live in the State of Texas, her parents made sure that she had close relationships with all of them. She spent most of her summers with her grandparent in Wisner and Winnsboro, Louisiana. She was the oldest of 5 children. She grew up in Houston, TX where she helped her parents raise her younger siblings. While in school, Yolonda was an outstanding student receiving much recognition for all of her accomplishments. She graduated from M. B. Smiley High School in 1989. After high school, Yolonda obtained a job with Conoco Phillips where she began to pursue her career in the travel industry. Yolonda grew up attending Philadelphia Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor Johnnie Sanders. She later joined Williams Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Robert Woodard Jr. Yolonda was currently attending Lakewood Church. As we all know, Yolonda would put her heart and soul into everything that she was a part of. She worked really hard with the "Hurricanes" while being a team mom. She also worked diligently with the M.B. Smiley Class of '89 committee helping with and planning class reunion events. She also worked with Sam Mac Entertainment as well as Erikah Nocturnal. Yolonda was a loving mother, sister, daughter, niece, aunt, cousin and friend. She kept her family laughing really hard at all of the family events. She was such a joy to be around. She will be truly missed. Yolonda was preceded in death by her grandparents Samuel and Beulah Brass as well as her grandmother Lessie Smith, and her sister in law Antoinette Hester. Yolonda leaves to cherish her memory three children: Brandon Lockett (23), Donzell Reed (19) and Donald Reed Jr. (15); her mother, Maggie B. Polk (Walter) and father, Earl D. Moore (Debra); three sisters: Denita E. Jones (Alvin), Earljandra "Joy" Ridley (William) and Melody Moore; 1 brother Malcolm B. Hester (Antoinette); 1 Grandson and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Class of 1989
