Our beloved husband, father, father in law, and grandfather, Yui Man Wong, passed away to be with the Lord on June 10, 2025 at the age of 89. Mr. Wong was born in Taishan, China on July 8, 1935 into a large family with six other siblings. As a child and adolescent, Mr. Wong excelled in scholarship and attended the leading high school academy in the Guangdong Province. After migrating to Hong Kong as a teenager, he continued his academic journey and graduated from Hong Kong Chu Hai College. In his youth, Mr. Wong also excelled in athletics, representing his schools in provincial level track and field competitions focusing on sprinting events. He had a range of interests outside of the classroom and athletic fields, including his passion for playing the Saxophone.
As an adult, Mr. Wong immigrated to the United States, following the footsteps of his grandfather and other ancestors that came from Taishan to America in search of a brighter future. From his humble beginnings as an immigrant, he worked in various jobs to secure the foundations of a life for himself and ultimately his family. He was fond of sharing his experiences and adventures of living in various places including New York, Florida, Michigan, Louisiana, California, and ultimately settling in Texas. Mr. Wong was a consummate entrepreneur and had a long successful career as the founder of a restaurant supply company catering to Asian restaurants in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
Most important to Mr. Wong was his family, friends, and community. He relished the opportunity to reconnect with the people, the places, and experiences that shaped him as a person. He was gentle in character, honest to a fault, sincere, and generous in his dealings with others. He had a kind heart that was filled with gratitude for the blessings in his life, especially his family. His warm and inviting smile was a constant to the people around him.
Thanks to his Lord and Savior in Jesus Christ, Mr. Wong was baptized and received Christ during this retirement years. He was grateful for his church community and friends at Ft. Bend Community Church in Missouri City, TX. Mr. Wong's faith in God and His promise of everlasting love and bliss never wavered even as he battled advanced stages of kidney disease. During the depths of his illness, Mr. Wong expressed the peace in his heart and the promise of spending eternity in heaven.
Mr. Wong is survived by his wife Shui K Wong of 54 years, his son Tony, his daughter-in-law Lisa, and his two grandchildren Alex and Ava. He is also survived by his sister and several nieces and nephews. He is loved and will be missed by all.
