Yung-Sen Chou, born April 23, 1947 in Nanjing, China to Yung-Chih Chou and Su-Chin L. Chou, passed away at age 71 on Monday, March 4, 2019 in Houston, Texas.

He grew up in Timor Island in Southeast Asia and attended junior high in Taiwan. He graduated from Wheelus High School in Tripoli, Libya. He attended Junior College in Magnolia, Arkansas and then transferred to the University of Mississippi, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. This is also where he met the love of his life whom he often referred to as his “Queen” Mary Lou Chou, and thus began the story of his life.

He lived in Houston, Texas and worked as a mechanical engineer in the oilfield industry. Together they raised two beautiful children, Christopher Chou and Melissa Chou Yan. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, wonderful brother, uncle and friend to all. He never knew any strangers. He was a baptized member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Spring, TX.

Yung-Sen was preceded in death by his parents, Yung-Chih Chou and Su-Chin L. Chou. He is survived by his wife Mary Chou; son Christopher Chou; daughter Melissa Chou Yan; son-in-law Thomas Yan; grandchildren Etienne and Elise Yan; brother Li-Sen Chou; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitations will be on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 5-8pm and Rosary will be 7pm on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Forest Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10am, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Forest Park Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077.

Mary, Chris, and Melissa, l was so sorry to hear of Yung-Sen’s passing! He was a good man, and a wonderful neighbor, as you all were! A hard working man, devoted to his family, and lovingly taking care of them! A wonderful neighbor, and we all enjoyed our neighborhood block party get togethers on Enchanted Forest! It was a pleasure to babysit for Yung-Sen and Mary’s beautiful children while they were both working! Thank you for placing them in my care! Thank you dear friend for the memories, may you R.I.P. , until we meet again! Love and Prayers for the family! ❤️🙏🙏
