Zachary James Arensdorf, 16, of Cypress, Texas passed away December 12, 2021 at Memorial Hermann Shock Trauma ICU as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was an organ donor, potentially helping as many as one hundred people. Although we could not save his life, he is helping the lives of many others.
He was born to James and Suzanne Arensdorf in Hagerstown, Maryland, on June 1, 2005. Zachary was a junior at Cypress Ranch High School in Cypress, Texas.
As a high school junior, he worked part-time at MOD Pizza where he was loved by his fellow employees, supervisors, and customers. More than once he was recognized for his hard work and willingness to pick up any tasks that needed to be done.
After high school graduation, his family was planning to move to Iowa where Zachary would join the family trucking business.
Zachary's energy was contagious and unmatched. He was a loving, caring young man who treated everyone as he would like to be treated. Zachary loved singing in the school choirs, socializing with friends and driving anything with wheels.
He was very athletic and loved competing in Men’s Gymnastics since he was six years old. He had achieved Level 9 when he suffered a back injury in 2019 that prevented him from further gymnastics activity.
Zachary was passionate about everything he did and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was incredibly dedicated and hardworking, and always made time to help others. He brought so much joy and love to everyone who knew him. His life was far too short, but he lived so fully and inspired everyone around him.
Zachary is survived by his parents James and Suzanne Arensdorf, his half-sister Kayla (Arensdorf) Flenker and half-brother Erik Arensdorf both of Maquoketa, Iowa. He leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Quentin and Sandy Fleming, of Cypress, Texas; and his paternal grandfather, James S. Arensdorf of Maquoketa, Iowa as well as several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, his dog, Max and cat, Callie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 17 at 2pm at the Community of Faith Church, 16124 Becker Road Hockley, TX 77447. Family and friends are encouraged to wear red or another bright color and arrive as early as 1:30pm to spend time sharing stories.
