Zelma was born in Martinsville, Virginia to Kathleen and Roy Clayton Clark on September 17, 1941. She married William David Mays on October 12, 1963 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She worked as a secretary for several years and then spent time caring for her many grandchildren. She was involved in teaching seminary and actively involved in the Mormon Church.
Zelma is preceded in death by her Husband William David Mays, Parents: Kathleen and Roy Clark, son; Kevin Mays and her brother Jerry Clark.
Zelma is survived by son David Steven Mays (Teresa); son Kenneth Paul Mays (Josalyn), Grandchildren: Garcie Mays, Roy Mays, Madison Mays, Makenna Mays, Meridith Mays, Myla Mays, William Mays, Bailey Northington, Jessica Mays, Brandon Mays and Courtney Mays; sister in law Paula Clark; nieces: Alicia Hutchinson, Kathleen Clark Braughton, Margaret Clark Livanec,
Crystal Clark Willis; best friends Bo Yeager and Trudy Tait.
Zelma loved to read her bible, pray with her sisters and brothers, spending time with her family and friends laughing. She was a loving caring person always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”
