

William Farkas, 62, passed away on Oct. 15th, 2010 at a local hospital with his wife and brother –in-law Ken at his side in Hudson, Fl. William was born October 26th, 1947 in Bronx, New York. He attended Saint Helena’s Catholic School and Manhattan College before joining the Military.
Bill proudly served his Country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army. He worked in the field of assembly, operation and maintenance of Nuclear and Conventional weapons. During a tour in Korea, he was injured in an unfortunate accident which kept him in the hospital for 3 years and left him with a medical honorable discharge. He went on to graduate from Engineering school and worked for Grinner Engineering.
Linda and Bill were married in 1992 and lived in Embassy Hills, Leisure Beach, and Spring Hill. Together they have 5 children. It can easily be said that Bill “never knew a stranger” since he was never at a loss for conversation. He could talk about anything and he did love cars, especially his 1969 carousal red GTO and of course Cadillac’s. We can’t forget about the trains. from the time he was a small boy, his Father always bought him a Lionel train for a gift. He had trains running in his basement in the Bronx. To this day, he was still enjoying his trains, always had a vision of a super layout.
Bill enjoyed traveling to a new and different places and meeting with his favorite group of friends from “ Dunkin Donuts “. He could sit for hours enjoying a cup of coffee, had to be iced with French Vanilla, and a plain stick. He will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Linda Farkas, Children, William Ralph Farkas, and Mary Kim Farkas, both from New York, Elizabeth Ann Farkas, from New Jersey, Aaron Detmar, Bill Detmar, from Idaho, and sister, Terry DiGralamo of New York, and grandson, Jakson Detmar of Idaho . A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23rd, 2010 at 10 am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1107 Commercial way, Spring Hill, Fl, 34606. A visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 22nd, at Grace Memorial Funeral Home, 16931 U.S. Hwy. 19, Hudson, Fl, 34667 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of choice in William Farkas’s name.
