Albert Leroy Terry

Albert was 81 when he passed away at home in Denair, CA with his wife at his side. He was born in Modesto, CA on October 23, 1938 to Albert Sr. and Lucille Terry. He was a lifelong resident of Stanislaus County and spent the last 51 years farming on the ranch in Denair. He sold his crops in many farmers markets in the Bay Area where he enjoyed talking with the customers and telling his farm story. He graduated from Thomas Downey High School in 1956. Bud, as he was nicknamed at an early age, developed a love for farming at a young age helping his grandpa, dad and uncles in the peach fields. His favorite place was home on the ranch. He spent 8 years on the Gratton School board, he also served 4 years on the Hughson High School board and while on that board they were able to build the current gymnasium. He spent a number of years on the Tri Valley Growers Board, Cling Peach Advisory Board and the Pacific Coast Farmers Market Association Board of Directors. Albert was devoted to his family and always considered them his biggest accomplishment. He spent many years, when his children were young, coaching little league and softball teams for his kids. He was always present at their sporting events through school, and even pig shows at the local fairs. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Antoinette Rose Terry, his brother Dan Terry (Lynda), and his three children; Ron (Lisa) Terry, Lisa (Ephriam) Walters, Denise (Anthony) Stornetta and five grandchildren Clayton Terry (Noelani), Dylan Terry, Zebulan Walters, Camellia Walters and Chiara Stornetta, and one great-grandchild Luna Terry-Gonsalves. Graveside services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson, CA, on November 8, 2019 at 1pm. There will also be a visitation at Lakewood Funeral Home on November 7, 4-8 pm.
