Alfred Perry Evans

March 8, 1942September 6, 2019

Perry Evans, 77, of Ceres, passed away on September 6, 2019 at his happy place, his second home in Texas. He was born in Modesto, CA to Roy and Ruth Evans. He attended Modesto High School. As a young man, he enjoyed playing football and wrestling. Perry moved to his ranch in Ceres in 1968 and enjoyed being a part-time farmer for the rest of his life. He was so immensely loved by his family and was the cornerstone of their lives. He was always a constant source of support and love. His wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids were his pride and joy and he would do anything for any of them and loved them with all his heart. His other pride and joy was his dog, Millie, who went everywhere he did. Perry retired from International Paper in 2004 after 38 years. He loved to fish and especially enjoyed doing so at his lake house in Texas and in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. If you came to visit him, chances are you would find him watching his favorite show, Gunsmoke. If you called him and asked him what he was doing, his response would be, “Whatever I want to.” He loved to travel, and he and Dusty were able to take many trips together all over the world. He truly lived life to the fullest. If you knew him, you loved him and he loved you too.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dusty Evans; 6 children: PV Evans, Rick Evans (Barbara), Rebecca Evans, Casey Stonebarger (Danny), Gena Meza (Philip), and Brandi Martin; 10 grandchildren: Kelsey, Charles, Mickey, Kaliegh, Anissa, Brooke, Nick, Zac, Tyler, and Colt; and 4 great-grandchildren: Gracie, Levi, Tessa, and Addison. He is also survived by his two brothers, Bob and Dick Evans, and countless other friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Ruth Evans, and brother Tom Evans. Services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Friday, September 13th, at 10 AM in the Riverside Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to his favorite charity, Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.
