In Modesto, Ca. Ann Ray Robinson was called to heaven to be with the Lord, November 27, 2019. She died peacefully from natural causes. Ann was born on October 10, 1936 in Charlotte, North Carolina to William McGill Matthews and Kathleen Betts Matthews. She was married to Richard Kenneth Robinson on December 18, 1953. Ann went on have 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ann was preceded in death by a daughter, Penni Mackman of Modesto; a brother, Benjamin Matthews of Charlotte; and her husband of 57 years Richard Robinson of Modesto. She is survived by son Ricky Robinson, his wife Lynn and their sons, Randall and Kyle Robinson of Modesto; daughter Terry Young and her children, Shawn Young and Brooke Miller; daughter Kim Parsons and her daughter Nicole Neal of Modesto; son Timothy Robinson, his wife Patti and their children, Jonathan and Elizabeth Robinson of Ceres; and Penni Mackman's son, Colton Ockey of Rocklin.

Ann grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. She would share stories of her childhood, especially about her sister Francis and her brother Kenny. Ann married Richard Robinson in 1953 and started a life that spanned 57 years of marriage, 5 children and travels from England to the shores of California. She called Arrington, England; Tampa, Florida; Lake Charles, Louisiana; Dover, New Hampshire; Jacksonville, Arkansas; Plattsburgh, New York; and Modesto, California home while raising, educating and loving a family with five children. Such an endeavor requires a little relaxation to end the day with a positive note. She enjoyed watching Vince Lombardi yelling at his Green Bay Packers during their glory years. Once Coach Lombardi retired she focused her recreational time on watching her beloved variety shows on television. Lawrence Welk, Red Skelton, Carol Burnett and Jackie Gleason were among her favorites. After the kids grew up and moved out Ann operated a mail presort business and drove a school bus in Modesto.

Mom, thank you for raising us with love, values and a commitment that touched each of us in a very personal way. I remember you playing catch with me in Arkansas when I couldn't find anyone to practice with. I bruised your hand from throwing too hard. You didn't complain. That's what moms do. You taught us the value of hard work, the value of a dollar. You prepared us for life. Job well done.

Thank you, mom. We love you and miss you.

What a beautiful tribute.
When my Aunt Lots passed away, she had a favorite charity. AVC. Ann was the first one down to give a donation in person.
I was so grateful.
I know how much she loved her family and our mutual grandson Colton . Thank you Ann.🌺❣️
