Barbara Jean Wright

Barbara was born in Merced, CA. to William and Mary Nursement. She was raised in Modesto and graduated from Modesto High School in 1950. Barbara was a stay at home mom until her children entered high school. She loved bookkeeping and followed that path until she retired from J.S. West.

Just recently she went to Fort Bragg, CA. and she loved the ocean and the beach. The greatest loves of all were her children. She was always sharing stories about her children and how proud she was of them.

This brings us to her next love, Friday night Pinochle, which she hosted at her home in her enclosed garage she fixed up for her "card room". There, she would have up to 20 people every Friday night and she was so happy to have all her friends there, enjoying food and laughter.

Barbara lost a lot of people she loved over the years but never forgot them. She always had a kind story about them. She will be greatly missed by everyone she has touched. God wrapped his arms around her at Alexander Cohen Hospice House with her family by her side.

She is survived by her children; Mary Graves-Coker (Tom) of Modesto, Jeanette Hammon (Dan) of Idaho, Michael Vasconcellos of Red Bluff; grandchildren, Jeremiah Vasconcellos, Katie Hammon and Mark Hammon.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Buzz" Wright; son, Kenneth Vasconcellos and her parents. A family service was private.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Doctors Medical Center and the entire staff at Alexander Cohen Hospice House.
