Betty Ruth Carpenter

Betty was born in Bakersfield, California on September 20, 1937. She was the youngest daughter of Willard and Hildred Foster. She spent most of her life in the Ceres/Modesto area. She was a student at Ceres grammar school and graduated from Ceres High School in 1955. She married and had 2 daughters, Terry and Tracy. Her working career included; working at Campbells Soup, managing her parents Convalescent Hospital for a few years. Her last position was a secretary for a insurance company. She retired in 1983. betty enjoyed life, camping, and one of her favorite things to do was rafting on the rivers near Ceres with friends. She also enjoyed dancing and playing cards. Betty loved animals and over the years she had loved and taken care of many dogs, among them were Prince, Little Guy, Toby, and her latest dog, Ci Ci. Betty was preceded in death by her parents. Betty is survived by her sister, Wilma Bradford, brother in law, Jim Bradford, niece, Kathie, nephews, Glen and Mike, daughters, Terry and Tracy. She is also survived by her grandson, Josh Earl and his wife Amy, who were her caregivers for the last year and 4 months of her life, 5 other grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and her best friend Arlene Austin. Betty passed away on April 20, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Modesto.
