Another angel entered Heaven this day as our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Aunt Billie found her wings. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ernie Crum (2009), her son, Jimmie and both of her siblings, James Horton McKay and Nadine Swafford. She is survived by, her children: Robert (Barbara) Crum, Judy (Jim) Mello, and Lori (Anatoly) Kalika, grandchildren: Jinger Mendonca, Spencer, Ryan, Joe and Jason Crum, Keeli Beland, Julia and Nicholas Kalika, and twelve beautiful great-grandchildren. Billie was a dust bowl Texan, turned "Rosie the Riveter" in the WWII shipyards of Oakland before beginning their family in the early 1940's in Empire, CA. She was an active stay-at-home mom for many years and later in life became a teacher's aide at Waterford Elementary School. Her success was achieved, "her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her..." Proverbs 31:28. If everyone could be blessed with such a wonderful person in their lives the World would be a better place. After a long battle with Alzheimer's, Billie passed peacefully. She loved her family, merriment, music and song, even to the end. In her honor, we'll sing and dance. Funeral services will be held at, Empire Church of the Brethren, 5101 Yosemite Blvd. Empire, Ca. 95357, on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at 1:30pm. Graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Billie's honor to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
