Billy Gene Talley

AUGUST 17, 1929 – JULY 22, 2016

Billy Gene Talley, of Modesto, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the age of 86. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to parents Cora and Charles Walter Talley and grew up in St. Jo, Texas along with his 10 siblings. At age 17, Bill joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country from 1951-1954, becoming an election during his service time.

On August 24, 1953 he married the love of his life, Ella Maxine Massey and together they raised 2 children. Billy worked as a salesman and manager of Whites Auto, Luck Auto, Pep Boys Auto. His many hobbies included fishing, camping, gambling, and playing pool and cards. He was an avid sports supporter of the Oakland A’s Baseball, the 49ers Football and the Kings Basketball.

Billy is survived by his son Calvin Talley, daughter Rhonda Beach, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Services are being held at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Hughson, California. Visitation will be on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 4-8pm and Funeral Service is on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10am in the Riverside Chapel.
