Callie Ann Bradford Blanusa was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stockton, California to Virginia and Fred Claus. She passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Saturday, October 3 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, California.
She is survived by her two sons – Dane Bradford (Ericka) and Sean Bradford (Vanessa), along with her five grandchildren. She is also survived by her parents, Fred and Virginia Claus, and five siblings – Kathy Brackley, Gail Avila Nicholas (Joey), Rebecca Van Horn, Diáne Tune (Joe), and Charles Claus (Sara). Callie's family will be forever grateful to her friend Duanne McKay for her loving care these past several months.
Callie owned the Spruce Goose Gift Store in Ceres, and then worked for Warden's Office for several years before finally working at Costco for ten years.
Callie had a sparkling personality and was well-loved by many. She had a generous heart for people and could often be found helping senior veterans. She loved animals, and especially liked to ride horses. She also loved photography and capturing pictures of the people around her. Her vibrant sense of humor was one of the most beautiful things about her.
She would be honored if in lieu of flowers, donations could be made to either Autumn Rein Equine Rescue (P.O. Box 1345 Waterford, CA 95386) or Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate).
The service will be held on Monday, October 12 at 11:30 a.m. at One Church (2361 Scenic Dr. Modesto, CA 95355). Please feel free to wear bright colors to honor her memory and celebrate her life.
