Catalina Duron Rodriguez was born on February 16, 1936, in Durango, Mexico. She immigrated to the United States at a young age, earned her U.S. citizenship, married, and had six children. Catalina is survived by her children Catalina (Kathy), Manuel Jr, Maria Esther (Mary), Yolanda, Salvador (Chavi), and Jaime including 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, plus one great-grandchild and one great great grandchild on the way. Catalina was preceded in death by her mother Josefina, sister Rafaela and half-brother, Channo.
Catalina loved to watch her novelas and I Love Lucy reruns. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, cooking, out-of-town day trips, and going out to eat. Her absolute favorite thing was having lunch with her family, especially at the Chinese Buffet. She had a special place in her heart for animals and often cared for multiple rescue dogs and birds. Her last loving canine companion, Paloma, was by her side at all times until her final moments.
Catalina taught us that anything is possible if you are willing to work hard for it. She showed us the value of family & tradition, and the importance of caring for each other, including our animal friends. She guided us to focus on being a good person, improving ourselves, and helping each other - regardless of what anyone thinks.
Catalina Duron Rodriguez passed away Sunday, January 29th, 2023, as she slept peacefully surrounded by family y con mucho, mucho amor.
