Just remembering Dad. Im thinking of all the fun trips we had.
Also remembering when I gave him his drivers test, LOL
I failed him HAHAHA, He was so mad. I took him on a corner I knew  He couldnt make it, I didnt tell him till we got back to the warehouse,
He was PISSED!!  
Damn I miss him. I love you Dad 

Some people have to get to know you ... not you Chet...  you were friendly and welcoming the day we met you... little did we know you needed a pit crew... and happily directed us to the sled weights... Tom and I got that aha moment and realized you were chuckling inside!  We all laughed as we loaded and unloaded the weights at the truck pulls...  You will be missed Chet...  Until we see ya again ... 

We will remember you, you lived life the best way you wanted doing things you loved to do. You had a warm heart, a happy smile and were always happy to see us.  You added to our lives, you will be missed but never forgotten. 

Whenever I seen you man, I knew it was going to be a good time. Thanks for the awesome memories, making me laugh and for being a friend!!! I sure am going to miss you!!!! RIP my friend!

I’m gonna miss you man, one of the best times we had together was when we drove the pickup up to eureka and willits while my dad hauled our pullers up there, and every other truck pull we’ve been at together for as long as I remember, all the way back to the sports arena when I was just a little kid. You were like another grandpa to me and always had a helping hand and I appreciated every tip you gave me, and I always loved helping you at the pulls. Love ya Chet

Although we didn’t see each other often, Chet always met me with a big smile and a HUG. When my mom died in 2011 unexpectedly in Modesto, you  were right there. Thank you for that. (you too Carole). As years passed, he kept in touch  to make sure my dad was doing well and all was ok with me. What a big heart you have.  I will miss you. It’s not good bye but, see ya later bud. ❤️🕊🙏🏻

Chet and I go a ways back to when I was a kid in high school, being I was so young  he was like a grandpa to me . I have so many memories with Chet and lots of fun times driving truck together. My favorite memories of him will always be when we flexed our arms at each other at any point in the day when we would see each other, even when passing each other in the big rigs. Chet would always act extremely impressed as I did too. Every time he would always let out a manly Belllowing grunt .... I will never forget you my dear friend. I will miss our phone calls, hearing your voice call me kid and our ridiculous tagging of Facebook jokes. Much love 

Chester  was my uncle years ago
 Ted and Tressia are my cousins. He was always kind to me and I know he will be missed by many. I remember when I got my permit he taught me how to drive. My car was a 53 Ford 3speed on the column. We had many jerky rides in the country till I learned how to shift. He was patient and we laughed alot. Goodbye old friend.

I will forever treasure seeing you at My Garden. I stood up, and by the look on your face you had NO idea that I was pregnant. I invited myself to your table and will never forget your kind words, advice, and big hugs.  Love you always!

Chet was a true example of what a kind soul is!  My heart goes out to Carole and his family in their time of sorrow.  

A kind and gentle man. There are many family members who will miss him , but the blessings of having him be a part of their lives can be held in their hearts until everyone is together again.   Chet’s kindness and love for his family was an example to follow.

Chett You were a great person and always knew how to make others laugh and smile. Im going to miss how you would always give me pointers on where to go on the track and also where to hook up the best on the track and where to stay out of the others ruts.  Everytime you staged me you would say dont blow this six blow up pulling that sled. I always just smiled and said she hasn't blown up yet.  Im going to miss you at the pulls may you full pull in heaven. RIP Mr Chett.

You were a good friend for over a half a century, and you will truly be missed. You were taken so quickly there was no time to say goodbye, so till we meet again dear friend.

I met Chet about 30 to 35 years ago.  He and my husband fished together with The Modesto Ambassador’s.  They both were officers of the club so we seemed to spend more time together than others.  I worked for Chet and Carole for many years and even though Chet and I didn’t always see eye to eye on things sometimes.  I would always get a big bear hug from him when I would see him.  He taught so many of the guys ways to fish that would help in competition.  That was Chet’s way.  Always there to HELP if he could no matter what sport it was.  He was very competitive and successful in all.  He helped me when my husband passed and I knew in my heart if I ever needed anything all I had to do was call and if possible he would be there for me.  I know now he is fishing for the big one right beside my husband.  Chet will be missed by so many.  That to me is a tribute to the kind of man and friend he was.  Always carried in my heart as a true friend.

I was know to Chet as the kid. I started competing with Chet truck pulling in 1998. He was one of my biggest mentors in the sport and one i can call a true friend. He always asked when i was going to come back and play but I always told him that the Farmersnightmare and little Red would only be memories. Till we meet again Mr. Hammonds.

To me Chet is
 the pulling dad. Everyone knew him and asked for his advice.  Even though I was a diesel girl and he was a gasser lol we became friends.... well I became  friends with the family . I'm honored I got to meet,befriend and pull with him. He will be missed ,but never forgotten! 

I will always remember you as the guy who had a smile on his face and a great handshake you will be greatly missed

Chet you were like a dad and grandfather to so many.  You will truly be missed.  I always looked forward to seeing you and getting a big hug at the truck pulls. Not good bye but see you later. 

 I reamber when  I was at the turck pull’s  with Sam and Amanda and  and it was Sam’s turn and I hear  him say  came on Sam you can do been then you did last pull 

I will always have a special place in my heart for the kind, supportive, respectable man Chet was.   I met him truck pulling with a group of mostly men.  As I struggled to compete Chet was always a very supportive, encouraging, kind and knowledgeable man that always wanted to help me do my best.  I valued his input and will always cherish the memory of him pointing to touch my index finger for luck.  Such a sweet gesture that calmed my nerves.  RIP my dear friend.  I will carry my memories of you forever.
