Clarence Ray Wilson

Clarence Ray Wilson, known affectionately to all as Ray, passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on October 27, 1939, Ray had a lifelong passion for sports, especially baseball and basketball. Throughout his life, he spoke fondly of his early days playing Little League baseball and high school basketball for Ceres High School. Following high school, Ray proudly served his country in the Coast Guard Reserve.

Ray went on to enjoy a dedicated 33-year career with PG&E in the gas service department, where he built deep, lasting relationships and made many lifelong friends. In his later years, Ray and his beloved wife, Barbara, shared a love for travel, creating cherished memories journeying across the United States. Above all, Ray treasured his family and took immense pride in the special moments spent with them—especially teaching his grandson, Wyatt, how to drive.

Ray was happily married to his wife, Barbara Wilson (née Stover), since 1961. He is survived by his loving family: his daughter, Shelley Lewis, her husband Mike, and their son Wyatt; his son, Jeff Wilson, and his wife Mathilde; and Jeff's daughters, Lily and Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Olive Wilson and sisters, Shirley Curci and Barbara Silveira.

Ray’s warmth, stories, and deep devotion to his family and friends will be forever remembered and missed.
