Clifford "Cliff" Allen Hurt

Cliff was born in San Francisco and grew up in Fremont where he met his wife Cindy. Together they raised their family of four sons in Modesto/Ceres. Cliff made his career as a Sprinkler Fitter foreman for overhead fire protection in high rise buildings across the greater Bay Area. He took pride in his work and was a Local Sprinkler Fitters Union #483 member for 36 years.

Cliff was an involved and committed father and spent many hours coaching his boys’ competitive travel baseball teams. Taking things one step further, Cliff was the Vice President of Ceres Youth Baseball for many years, working alongside good friends to improve the Ceres baseball program.

Each of his boys have been successful and have married and now have children of their own. This allowed Cliff to take on his most loved role as a Papa to his many grandchildren. He and Cindy have enjoyed spoiling them all and have treasured every moment – from baseball games and dance recitals to field trips, beach days and camping trips.

Cliff's love for nature was instilled into him by his father Gavin. With his brother Tim, the three of them frequently backpacked in the Trinity Wilderness near his parents’ hometown of Covelo. Cliff passed this onto his sons and, with Cindy and the boys, continued to explore the outdoors, chasing waterfalls and enjoying the ocean and the mountains all over the western United States.

Cliff was loved and will be missed by so many. He is survived by his wife Cynthia; sons Joshua (Kelli), Jacob (Christina), Benjamin (Danielle), and Chadwick (Haley); grandchildren Kieran, Bella, Capri, Emma, Gavin, Mason, Christian, Weston, Grant, Miles, Charlize, and Olivia (due June 2022); as well as his father Gavin, brother Timothy and his pets Hank, Rocco and Ms. Kitty. He is predeceased by his mother Patricia Ann Hurt.

A visitation for Clifford will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home in the Heritage Chapel, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326 in the Heritage Chapel. A committal service will occur Saturday, March 26, 2022 from at 2:00 pm at Lakewood Memorial Park - Tuolumne Monuments Garden, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
