Dalphord, 88, passed away on April 1, 2013 in Modesto, CA. He was born and raised in Oklahoma. He served in the US Army. In 1947 he married his wife, Evalena, and moved west, settling in Modesto where he lived until his death. Dalphord worked as a journeyman plumber for Champion Plumbing and Electric, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Plumbing Union Local 442 and the Masonic Lodge. He and his late wife attended La Loma Grace Brethren Church. After retirement, he bought some land where he enjoyed raising cattle. He is survived by his two children, Kenneth (Judy) Elam of Snelling and Janice Pollard of Oakdale, his three grandchildren, Kristi Griffitts of Modesto, Lisa Tankersley of Ceres, and Jason Pollard of South Lake Tahoe, his four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Dalphord is also survived by two of his brothers, Paul Elam of Modesto, CA and Karl Elam of Tulsa, OK. There will be a memorial service held at Lakewood Funeral Home (Riverside Chapel) 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326 at 2pm, Saturday, April 6, 2013.
