David William Babb

David William Babb passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on April 26, 1932, David was raised on a dairy in Hickman, California, where he developed a lifelong love of farming and agriculture. In May 1951, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country.

After his military service, David returned home, married the love of his life, Wilma, and began his career as a truck driver for Tri-Valley Growers. He retired from Tri-Valley Growers at the age of 61 after 25 years of hard work, but retirement didn't keep him still for long. He later went to work for Kamps Propane, where he continued working until the age of 70.

David enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially farming and fishing. He took great pride in raising show-quality steers, beef cattle, and swine. In 1982, he achieved one of his proudest accomplishments was raising the steer that earned Grand Champion honors at the Junior Grand National Livestock Exposition in San Francisco, California.

David will be remembered as a hardworking man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Though he was known for being hardheaded and stubborn, he took great pride in supporting his children and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilma Babb, his parents, John and Pearl Babb; his sister, Pearl Collard; his daughter, Laura Babb; and his son, Steven Babb. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Lawrence of Medford, Oregon, his sisters Evelyn Busk of Orangevale, California, Gladis Falk of Turlock, California, and Grace Skaggs of Turlock, California, along with his six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, extended family, and many friends who will cherish his memory.
