He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister and brother, and his loving wife Genevie of 54 years of marriage. He is survived by their three children, Brenda, Robert and Paula, seven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, a nephew, 2 nieces and many great nephews and nieces.
He was known as Del, for all that knew him. He joined the service right out of high school, and was a Veteran of the Navy, serving on a destroyer during WWII. After leaving the service moved on to Radio School and from there went to work for the Santa Fe Railroads, which brought him to California, where he settles and started raising his family in Empire, California.
Del loved his sports and his family, most family gathering always a ball being tossed somewhere. Spent many vacations with family camping in the mountains.
Del delighted in his grandchildren, showing all the example a Father should be. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved the Lord, as he showed in the life he loved. He will be missed dearly, but knowing he is in the arms of our Father, in Heaven, we can let go.
