Dhurmi Devi Mangal, 81, of Modesto California went to Heaven on October 22, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Dreketi, Fiji Island on March 12, 1931, daughter of the late Jagu and Ramraji Singh. She was the oldest of five younger sisters and two brothers.
Dhurmi was married to Ram N. Mangal on November 21, 1946 for 59 years who passed away in June of 2005. Together they had eight children, seven girls and one son: Phulmati Raj; Bina Mangal (deceased); Bindra Lal; Maya Kumar; Sumintra Mangal; Dave Mangal; Roshni Hurlbert and Solochana Mangal. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Dhurmi Mangal was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she's touched.
A viewing will be held on Saturday October 27, 2012 from 4-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, October 28, 2012 both at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave in Hughson.
A reception will follow at 4:30pm in the multi-purpose room of Shelter Cove at 4242 Coffee Rd in Modesto.
