Don was born in San Francisco, CA to Ben and Edna. He graduated from Modesto High School. He served in the Army during WWII in Europe. He was awarded two purple hearts. He worked at Tri Valley Canneries in shipping for over 45 years. He was a member at the Modesto Motorcycle Club, Empire Lions Club and volunteered for the CA Highway Patrol. He was a huge fan of the San Francisco Giants. He loved bowling, billiards and playing baseball.
Don was a loving husband to Carlena for 46 years. He is survived by three step daughters, Kay Bryant, Loretta Placeres and Janet Taylor, 10 granddaughters, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He preceded in death by his parents and step daughter Theresa Denlis.
Viewing is scheduled at Lakewood Memorial on Thursday, February 18th 4pm - 8pm. The funeral is at Lakewood Memorial on Friday, February 19th at 10am.
