MAR 26, 1924 - JUN 5, 2013
Earnest Holloway, age 89, joined his wife in Heaven on June 5th. Opal preceded Earnest in death this past August. Now, they will celebrate the wonders of Heaven together in spirit, without pain and suffering any longer. Earnest loved the Lord and he loved to go to church. He was a member of the Riverbank Assembly of God church.
He was born in Stigler, Oklahoma to Walter and Clara Holloway. He came to California alone at the age of 15. He joined the Army in 1943. Within a year, he had an accident that caused a medical discharge from the service and he worked his way to Riverbank. It wasn't long before he met and married his sweetheart in 1944 and was married 68 years.
Earnest began his work in the fields driving various equipment, working in canneries, and eventually spending 50 years plus driving a truck. He was proud of his work and when on drives would always point out different projects that he had helped deliver materials to. He missed driving from the day of retirement at the age of 77, and was always talking about going back.
Earnest leaves behind two grown children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He loved his family and we loved him. We will miss him each and every day.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 5pm-7pm. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 13 at 11am. Both will be at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, CA.
Our family wants to give special thanks to the Hospice program for helping and providing excellent care and support during the passing of both our parents
