It's been 6 months and 3 days. Today might have been my darkest day. I fought the tears all day and tried to prepare myself for your absence. It was Kaden's, first game, and you always came out to watch.  I knew it would be painful when I looked up into the stands and you weren't there, but it was more than that. I believe this was my breaking point. You aren't coming back. I knew that but, until today I don't think I had faced it. Why can't you come back?! We want you back!  Make our family right again! I don't feel it's possible to make it in life without you. I wanted so badly to see you sitting there today, laughing with a friend, or getting a call about how terrible the Broncos played against the niners today, but  the truth is I'm  never going to hear your voice. I'll never see your face, or get those funny texts again. I know you've reached out in your own way to let us know you're still here, but I want you hear for real. I would never take another day with you for granted.  You were to good of a man to leave. I will forever miss you, Dad! Please keep sending signs. It keeps me going. Dad- It seems like it's been forever since I've talked to you. I miss you so much. I try to block it out but it just won't go away. Oh how things have changed since you've left. I never imagined it would hurt this much. I still have a hard time sleeping but hopefully it will get better. The days seem so long now...I haven't been to the house in months but I just can't go. Nothing has been the same since you left but I'm hoping it will get easier as time goes by. I love you Dad-P.S. The Broncos had a good draft, Should do pretty good this year.

Ed you are loved and missed by so many.....Your 1 liner jokes, sarcasm and quick wit was priceless and will be missed greatly...wish i could have known you longer to have all the memories your family has with you...but the ones i had were great and comical....1 of my best memories was the day i married your daughter Michelle...so glad u were there and got to be there for michelle and I...as long as she has my heart...i will cherish her and love her..no worries...i know your dogs are getting plenty of attention and are constantly on the look out for you...but we will all see you again soon...your in a better place now and pain free....till we meet again...watch over us all and throw down a 1 liner every now and again to keep us laughing..love ya

Dad its been almost 2 months since you've been gone, there's not a day that goes by that i don't think of you, cry for you, scream out why did you have to go , my heart aches my heart is empty, i wake each day hoping to see a text message with the name Daddio and hoping this was all a bad dream , now i send a message its no longer received, i call and it says this number is out of service...i want you back i need you back how will my life ever be the same without you here with us , there's so much you didn't get to see like Cohen Pitched his first baseball game 8 Ks in 3 innings you would be so proud, Reese is playing softball and she loves it you would be so proud, your third great grandchild was born on april 7th Nash Edward you would be so proud, Lance graduated from Lineman school you would be so proud why did you have to go i miss you so much and cant wait to see you again I love you Dad

I miss you more and more as the days go by. Why won't this nightmare end?! I try and stay busy, but nothing takes you far from my mind. Can you see me and hear me when I visit your grave?  I feel better when I sit with you. I love you and will miss you forever.  Faith

The best man you'd ever meet right there and a die hard Broncos fan. Every time you were in grandpas presence you were always laughing. He loved his old body style Chevys I won't forget the night we were outside uncle Eddies and he was talking to me about his truck and how he's been working on it and finally got it running. He went to take jack for a ride one day and it broke down on his street and he turned over and looked at jack and said well jack you probably wanna get out and start walking.  I'm glad I always took the time to ask grandpa how he was doing and talk to him and I just wish I could have one last conversation with him it would mean the world to me. As a family we all have to stay strong cause that's what grandpa would want. it still doesn't feel real feels like a nightmare. Atleast I still have all the amazing stories and memories. I will cherish them till my last day. I love you and miss you so much grandpa and can't wait to see you again.

Big Ed, I feel really blessed to have been a part of your life, for the time that I was. You were different from the rest and in the most wonderful ways. The love you had for your wife, children and grandchildren was a beautiful thing to witness. I can still picture you in the garage blasting the Doors, singing and happy. Thank you for the moments shared with you and your family, l will forever cherish your memory.

We were greatly saddened to learn of the death of Eddie Turnbough.   We enjoyed chatting with him when he was walking with his friend "Jack" on the river trail behind our home.   He was always very friendly and had a great smile.  He will be missed.

I said goodbye before going to Texas but did not think it was going to be goodbye forever. Not being able to see you again is tearing me apart and I wish I could've told you one more time how much I love you and miss you. Having to write this is breaking my heart, you were one of the sweetest men I knew and always the one we would go to with trouble. Even though I know you're in a better place, I'm angry this had to happen. I love you more than you will ever know grandpa and one day we will meet with you again.

It's only been a few days since you left me. But it feels like years. I never dreamed something could hurt this much. Sometimes I can't breathe. I keep thinking I'll wake up from this nightmare. Dad, I still can't believe you're gone! I wake every morning just hoping this is a bad dream! How can this be real?  My life is forever changed. When you died a part of me died with you! Football season has always been my favorite time of year and now I wonder if I will ever be able to watch football again!  I would give anything for just one more day with you! For some reason one of the memories I keep having is this time Eddie and Vada took us younger kids to Turlock Lake. It was the 70's. They had this custom van, they were in at the time. I think it was white and it had an ocean scene painted on the side.  I remember the shag carpet in the back, very uncomfortable benches and Eddie was playing "Wings At The Speed Of Sound" on the 8-Track over and over.  Anytime I hear Paul McCarthney's "Let Em In" I remember that day.  For a while he was the baby of the family, then Shelia came along and he was the 3rd child of our growing family.  A few years back he became the oldest and now he too is gone.  I cannot put in words just how sad I am.  We did not spend very much time together as adults, but I did love him.

Little did I know that when I stopped by to see you folks last summer that it would be the last time I would ever see you Eddie, in this world anyway. It's like a bad dream and I can't wake up.  I'm sure going to miss the football talk and watching games together. I told myself that my passion for football died with you but I am going to try and continue that special bond with my kids. I had so much more that I wanted to do with you and watch the grand kids play sports with you. I see a lot of you in me and I am so grateful to call you my dad. Our kids loved you so much and enjoyed going to papas house to play with Dolly. Reese shared some great dog walks with you and Austin had some memorable fishing trips as well. It's been the longest 5 days of my life since you've been gone. Everyone tells me it will get easier as time goes by but, I don't think that's possible. How can life without you ever get easier?
