Elena Zepeda Saldivar, passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on May 22nd 1956, she was known for being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who taught us love, strength, kindness and the meaning of what a family is. In Mexico, her greatest accomplishment was becoming a nurse and practicing for many years. After moving to the United States, she dedicated herself to her family (husband and daughters). Her biggest accomplishment was to see her daughters grow up and become professionals and create a family of their own. Nena, as she was dearly called by her grandkids loved Pepsi. Nena was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind beautiful memories to those who knew her. She touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Jose Huerta, daughters Johanna, Elizabeth, Mayra, 10 grandkids Viviana, Lissandra, Melina, Damien, Daniel, Juliana, Adriel, Camila, Romeo, and Jaciel and 5 sisters Luisa, Maria de Jesus, Lucia, Ines, Otilia, and Maria. Services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Tuesday September 24th from 4pm to 8pm with a mass following on September 25th at 1pm in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Nena's life was characterized by remaining strong in her faith. She was a huge support to many that knew her specially those who also went through a cancer battle themselves or had a relative that had cancer. She will be remembered for her love, smile, and good sense of humor.
As her health declined, she showed us that in the most difficult time never to lose faith, remain strong and she fought courageously until the end.
