NOV 7, 1922 - MAY 13, 2014
On Tuesday morning Ernie went home to be with our Lord. Preceding him in death is his wife Mary; mother Maria; 3 sisters: Trinie, Frances and Carmen and 2 brothers Fino and Lee. Ernie leaves behind his daughter Dona (Sky) King , granddaughters Janai Griesel, Dyani Deen and great-grandson Aiden Deen, all of Modesto, CA as well as his other step-children Russell, Patti, Ronnie and Debbie, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Ernie is a WWII veteran with a Purple Heart serving in the Army for 21 years. He acquired several different positions serving our country and was a very proud American. After retiring from the Army, Ernie went to work for General Electric in San Jose, CA on the loading docks for over 20 years. During this time he met his wife Mary of 34 years. Mary had 5 children that Ernie cherished each one as his family. When Ernie retired from GE they moved to Modesto, CA. They were very active in the American Legion, VFW and the Moose Lodge.
In September, 2013 Ernie suffered a mild stroke. Spending a month in rehabilitation he was able to use his arm and walk again with a walker. Then on Halloween 2013 Ernie moved in with his daughter Dona and her husband Sky. Over the months Ernie's health started to decline. As time was passing, Ernie was talking about going home to be with his family and friends and dance one again with his wife Mary. When Ernie passed he had his dancing shoes on and danced through the sky 'til he was in the arms of our Lord.
Services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, Heritage Chapel on Thursday May 22nd at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please bring an American Flag. Rest in Peace dad, you will be missed. Luv, ur family and friends.
