Frances June Shapley

Frances June Shapley was a resident of Stanislaus County for 80 years. Frances’ maiden name was Frances June Correll. On October 8th, 1961 Frances married Sgt.Luther ‘Ben’ Shapley and was survived by her 3 sons and loving grandchildren. Frances and her late husband Luther Shapley were married for 62 years. Frances throughout her life was active both in the First Church of Christ in Ceres and later the North Modesto Church of God where she greeted members, helped in the Church nursery, and headed the Church prayer chain for over 30 years. Beginning her adult life as a graduate of Hughson High School in 1953, Frances obtained her cosmetology license and was a Hairdresser at the Hughson Beauty Salon. She found immense joy as a teacher’s aid at Mt View Elementary. Her favorite pastime was gardening, spending much of that time with her late brother, mother and husband. As John 3:16 reminds us, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Memorial service will be held at Lakewood in the Evergreen Garden on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 11am.
