Gary Moore

Gary Don Moore passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 17, 2015 in Modesto, CA. Gary was born on July 5, 1945 to Ollie and Rebecca Ruedean Moore in Wynnewood, OK. The family moved to Patterson, CA when he was a small child. He attended Las Palmas Elementary and Patterson Jr. and Sr. High Schools. Gary met the love of his life, Barbara (McNutt), in high school and they were married on 1965 just two weeks after Barbara graduated her senior year.

Gary had a 28 year career as a Press Operator with James Rivers Corporation and also served as the President of Teamsters Local 811. As a hobby, he became a master wood carver and left many of his works for friends and family members to enjoy for years to come.

Family was the joy in his life and he attended as many activities for his children and grandchildren as time allowed. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Moore; sons Corey Moore (and Lupi) of Oakdale and Chad Moore of Patterson; and grandchildren Max Thomas Moore and Marley Mia Moore of Oakdale. He is also survived by his brother, Terry Grigsby, and two half-sisters - Benni (and David) Smith and Donna Loudermilk, all of OK. Gary will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and many long-time friends.

All services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave in Hughson CA in the Heritage Chapel. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 21st from 4-8PM followed by funeral services on Friday, October 23rd at 10:00AM.
