Our father took his last breath on the morning of June 26th, 2022 at home, in the presence of his children. He was born in Modesto, California on December 2nd, 1951 as the eldest son of Doyle and Barbara Ford. At the time of his birth, his father was serving our country in the Korean war. Gene was raised and worked in Modesto. He spent his life in the family trucking business, where he worked early on as a driver and in his last 30 years, as a diesel mechanic. Gene enjoyed water skiing, bowling, snowmobiling, Harley Davidson motorcycles and always loved playing cards and watching the 49ers with family. He was a foster parent to several children and had a positive impact on their lives. After the 2017 death of his father, Gene pursued his dream of retirement in Nampa, Idaho, where he met many friends in the last 3 years of his life. Gene was preceded in death by his son Steven Hancock in 2018. He is survived by his brother, David Ford, his sister, Charlotte Walton, his son, Vincent Ford, and his three daughters Gina Keene, Ryan Sullivan and Deborah Boris. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He will be remembered as an honest, hard working, soft hearted Christian man. Services will be held on Thursday, July 7th at 10am at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, Ca. A reception will follow at Davis Park Christian Church in Modesto, Ca. Rest in peace our beloved father. It was an honor to have your guidance and love.
