From the words of her daughter, Gloria Hill:
"Mom was a hard working homemaker. She was a member of the Denair Missionary Baptist Church since 1995. She loved her Lord and church family. She was proud of being self taught to speak and read English. She treasured being an American citizen. She loved to read and you would always find her with a book, bible, or newspaper. She was an amazing cook and her entire family treasured her German recipes; Fliesch Roladden, Cabbage Rolls, Meatloaf with brown gravy, Potato salad, cherry cookies at Christmas and her streusel Kuchen. She was very artistic and was known for her pine needle baskets and decorative gourds. She was most proud of her family. Six children, 25 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. Mom was a wonderful grandma and Oma, her quiver was full. She was patient, quiet, and always had a stash of chocolate somewhere in her room to share with the younger ones. We love you Mom and will miss you forever."
Hildegard is survived by her children; Gloria Hill, Marion Ayers, Robert Weiss, Richard (Stefanie) Weiss, Barbara (Paco) Lara, and Nicole (Roger) Walton. Her 25 grandchildren, her 28 great-grandchildren, and her living siblings; Rolf Peperkorn, Dieter Peperkorn, and Veronika Middeke.
