

Jack Ray Manning, 89, of Empire, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Jack was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and moved to California as a young boy. Over the years he held several interesting jobs, eventually finding his place at Waltman’s Inc. Machine Shop, where he worked as the owner’s right‑hand man until his retirement.
Jack had many hobbies and passions, including hunting, fishing, gardening, and painting. He loved driving through the mountains, sharing Sunday morning coffee with family and friends, and spending time with his great‑grandchildren. Anyone who crossed paths with him would tell you he was truly a good man.
Jack was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ruth; his parents, Hank and Dorothy; and a granddaughter. He is survived by his children David, Greg, and Roni, as well as three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe, Ave, Hughson Ca. A committal service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m.
