Jacob was a fierce prayer warrior and had a big heart. He often dealt with the spiritual battles that come along with being a man of Christ. No matter what the struggle, Jacob would often help those even when he was in need himself. His pure heart and ability to speak to people he didn’t know made him memorable. He always strived to help his family and loved ones living by the motto “Family First”. He had the gift of discernment and could see a person for who they really were, at times when the person couldn’t see themselves. Jacob was very forgiving of people and just wanted peace. He knew how to make ends meet when most would balk at the challenge. His life circumstances were not fair, most people’s aren’t, but he always tried to get back up when life knocked him down. His battle with kidney failure is proof that he really did have what it takes to be a fighter for what he believed in. He believed in family and always trying to be there for his kids even when the spiritual warfare took its toll. He was taken from us too soon and we as a family are devastated. We also know that he is no longer suffering and is rejoicing at the feet of the almighty above. This is God’s promise:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
Jacob was the Prodigal Son and is now being welcomed in heaven, with his family along side him rejoicing in their heavenly mansion.
“ But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
